I went to prom with Craig. A really good guy. Sad he's gone.

When we entered eventh grade...they split our year into three classes...Seven one ...seven two and seven three...It was the first time since the first grade that they had seperated any of us from the one group we'd been in for years..I'm looking around to see who I know in my class and this short skinny kid with funny hair and a really deep voice walked up and shook my hand and said "I guess I'm the new guy around here" That was Craig Lesser..I said ...cool... and we just clicked...we did everything together..We were some of the oldest kids in the clas so we got bar mitzvahed first...git our drivers licences first...when we were fifteen...we would walk from my house down to Wilshire and take the bus to Ocean...then wlak down the ramp to Tee's Beach..When we were 14 we realized that we both were interested in the same thing...girls...And since all the girls loved Craig...he was a great guy to hang out as...He lived in Trousdale Estates...We would walk down the hill on Friday nights and spend the night walking from one girls house to the next looking for people to hang out with..Then we started driving and racing cars and getting into all kinds of trouble..The last time I saw Craig was Grad night...He went off on what he called a "Spiritual Quest" We kept in touch over the years sue to the fact that our mothers played cards every week together(along with Carole White and Wendy Sobels mothers).when I made it back to L.A. I kept saying I was going to go out to Malibu where he was living and see him,,and then a year later I was standing at his funeral..A great guy ...who I spent some of my best childhood moments with.

Craig lived across the street from me on Trenton Drive and we were inseperable until high school when for some reason we stopped seeing one another. He was a wonderful guy.

Craig and I petitioned Mr Miletich (sp?)  in May 1967 to allow boys to wear jeans to school....

He questioned us, asking "you boys know you're 1 month from graduating...is this wise?"

we looked at each other and said..Sure...

I dont remember how we two got involved in this crusade, but in and out of my high school years, craig was an integral part, and I'm sorry to hear he is gone!
