When I was nine years old my Dad wanted me to meet Karen. Our fathers were doing business together, Karen (Victoria and Nancy) had recently lost their wonderful mom to a horseback riding accident. We became lifelong friends....going through so many changes in time. Sometimes almost as close as sisters, along with the squables and misunderstandings of youth. In 1977 we went to Israel together and shared an appartment in Tel Aviv, after months I left, Karen stayed. She married David, had Arlene...the great love of her life and such a wonderful woman. It breaks my heart to write this down and realize she is not just in another country. How I wish we could have just one more dinner (she was an amazing cook and had restaurants in Israel and wrote cookbooks)...Karen came with me to the "we're 60 party" at Mike Salters and was so happy to see everyone...I will post a picture of her soon.
