Roxanna's family and my family were close and I was friends with her even before elementary school. So sorry to see that she is gone,  I was looking forward to seeing her.  So sorry.

Roxanna was a good friend. She became my friend when we both worked at the Crest Theatre on Westwood Boulevard. I was a transfer student and never really felt comfortable at Beverly as there were so many clicks of kids who had known each other since Grammer School.  She took me under her wing. I remember she told me I looked "cheap" because I wore straight skirts and black stockings. It's funny as I was pretty innocent at the time. Shows not all is,  as it appears.

When Roxie worked in the Entertainment business we went to Vegas courtesy of her boss and Tom Jones . We ran into a fellow (Frank Jordano) who worked for the Herald Examiner and he invited us to the Elvis Show. Seats were front row center and I , on Frank's suggestion, stood up and asked Elvis for his scarf. "Ya don't get something for nuthing" he said, and leaned down and kissed me. I did get that scarf and we went up to the Penthouse after the show and Roxie and I spoke to Elvis for quite awhile. The rumor is true. He was really a nice guy!

Roxanna and I haven't been that close in recent years but I know she moved down to Palm Springs and sold Real Estate. She lived with her husband Terry. It was tough years for quite a while as Terry had a stroke long ago and had to learn how to walk and talk again. He never improved mentally past a child. Roxanna was devoted to him. Very sad as he was such a special sweet guy. Roxanna had breast cancer many years ago and fought it valantly with a double mascetomy. The cancer came back and took her life 2 years ago.

A great loss to her friends. She was always spunky and direct. Beautiful and intellegent. I am sorry I cannot make that trip South and see her but she will always be in my heart.

Spunky and direct...Myrna Gintel had it right. I enjoyed her high spirit. Our father's worked together on some film...so we became friends freshman year. Would have been nice to see her and catch up.

Dear Rox,

You were my best friend from the time we were 14 years old till are friendship desolved in our early 20's.  You saved my life when I was deserted by my other friends.  You helped me through one of the hardest times in my life.  I eventually got it together and we moved out on Thanksgivg weekend 1970.  I remember it like yesterday.  The last time I saw you was at the 30th reunion.  We drove together but did not spend much time together.  About 5-6 years ago you called and left a message to call you.  You called twice.  I think it was about the informal reunion.  I feel so bad that I didn't respond.  We did hook up on Facebook and wished each other Happy Birthday.  The  year before last I sent you a birthday greeting and you didn't respond.  I thought that was odd.  Several days later I received a message from a stranger that you had passed.  I was so shocked and of course filled with guilt.  I know you have forgiven me.

I was very lucky to have you in my life and will never forget you or your silliness such as singing a song on our walks to school and I couldn't get the song out of my head.  You were also my first chocohalic.

Sleep peacefully my dear friend.  xoxoxo
